Background

Oksana Sivokobilska has spent her career inside the regulated institution — the place where judgment is not only exercised but governed, under a supervisor's eye.

For more than twenty-five years she has sat on both sides of the decision. As a banking Management Board member she carried the P&L for retail, SME and technology, built digital businesses that led their markets, and modernised the core systems underneath them. As an independent non-executive director she has overseen risk, cybersecurity and the readiness of institutions to meet international investors' standards, and chaired a nomination and remuneration committee — across listed banks and financial institutions in European and emerging markets.

She sits on the board of Latvia's national artificial-intelligence association, which she led, working on how institutions adopt AI without surrendering the judgment they remain accountable for.

That double vantage — inside the regulated institution, and at the frontier of AI — is the seat from which she writes.
